Recreational Soccer

Overview

The Hamilton Township Youth Athletics Soccer Program is designed to teach players the fundamentals of soccer while having fun. Every player will have a chance to play every position throughout the season. Soccer is a game that can last a lifetime providing years of fun and fitness. We are always looking for parents/adult volunteers to get involved in our soccer program, if you are interested in coaching or volunteering please let us know.

Divisions

In an interest to align our program with other soccer programs, we will be changing our divisions to use player's birth year instead of the August to July dates that were previously used. Players are placed in co-ed divisions based on the year they were born.

Divisions

Divisions by birth year

U6: 2017 & 2018

U8: 2015 & 2016

U10: 2013 & 2014

U13: 2010 & 2011 & 2012

* Age groups are subject to be combined, split or changed based on the number of participants.

Please note: All players must be potty-trained and no longer in diapers or pull-ups. U6 Players must be at least 4 1/2 years of age.

Coaching Opportunities

We are always looking for parents/adult volunteers to help by coaching a recreational soccer team.  We hope you will consider helping our HTYA Recreational Soccer Program by coaching or volunteering. All Head Coaches will receive a $25 refund check at the coaches meeting, IF SELECTED TO COACH. If interested, please send an email to [email protected] Also, there is a section in the online registration program to volunteer/coach.

When and Where are Games?

There will be 10 regularly scheduled games and some tournament games during the season. Game start times can vary with weeknight games starting between 6pm and 7pm and Saturday game start times from 8am to 2pm. All games are held at the Hamilton Township Park.

When and Where are Practices?

Practice times are determined by each team's head coach. All practices are held at the Hamilton Township Park. Prior to the start of games, teams will practice two times per week for 45-60 minutes, with longer practices for older teams. Once games begin, teams can practice no more than once per week.

Game Cancellations

Games are canceled for lightning and/or flooded fields. Rain, sleet, wind and snow do not stop soccer. Dress appropriately. Games are not canceled by coaches, it is an HTYA Board decision 30 minutes prior. Games that have played 2 full quarters will not be rescheduled. The final score stands. Canceling practices is up to each coach, but may be canceled by the HTYA Board should there be lightning and/or flooded fields.
